Overview

The 2010 Escalade EXT is a big, premium four-door, five-passenger, sport pick-up truck available in a single trim. With a dynamic powertrain, a luxurious quality ride, attractive interiors, and a versatile mid-gate design feature, the 2010 Cadillac Escalade EXT is fun and comfortable to drive. It gets navigation system, E85 fuel compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity, and a power tilting steering wheel as some standard features. The 6.2L V-8 engine is now equipped with fuel-saving Active Fuel Management technology, which automatically shuts off four cylinders in certain low-load driving conditions. Side thorax air bags are added to the front outboard seats and a revised inner door design for enhanced side-impact protection. Locking steering column is new so also the standard Platinum-model clock. USB connection in center console enables stored audio files to play through the audio system and battery charging for some handheld devices.

Powertrain And Performance

A 403-hp 6.2-liter V8 engine with 417 pounds-feet of torque mated to a six-speed automatic transmission powers the 2010 Cadillac Escalade EXT. All-wheel drive is standard. The maximum towing capacity stands at 7,500 pounds. The cargo space available when the second row seats are folded is 101 cubic feet. The fuel economy is estimated at 12/19 mpg (city/highway).

Build And Styling

The 2010 Cadillac Escalade EXT is a carryover from 2008 with few changes. Standard alloy wheels measuring 18 inches; xenon headlights; heated seats for all occupants; a roof rack; leather upholstery; road-sensing adaptive suspension; automatic climate control; navigation system; and an eight-speaker Bose surround-sound audio system with a CD/DVD/MP3 player, satellite are standard. Body colored grille; 22-inch alloy wheels; LED headlamps; chrome tip exhaust; and power running boards are available as options.

Safety Features

Four-wheel-disc antilock brakes; electronic stability system; full-length side curtain airbags; rear parking assist; adjustable pedals; and OnStar are among the standard safety and security equipments. Side Blind Zone Alert is new for 2010. A rear view camera is optional.
