Overview

The Saab 9-5 Sedan, introduced ten years ago, is a hit with buyers seeking impressive style, comfort, and cargo space. Last year, it received the OnStar system, sport seats, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The 2009 Saab 9-5 Sedan, mainly a carryover from 2008, is a five-passenger luxury sedan available in two trims - 9-5 2.3T Sedan and 9-5 Aero Sedan.

Powertrain And Performance

A 260-hp, 2.3-liter, 4-cylinder high output turbocharged engine is standard on both trims. A five-speed Sentronic automatic transmission is standard, while a five-speed manual gearbox is optional. The trunk capacity of the 2009 9-5 Sedan is 15.9 cu. ft.

Build And Styling

17-inch twin five-spoke alloy wheels and 17-inch five-spoke high-split alloy wheels are standard on the 9-5 2.3T Sedan and the 9-5 Aero Sedan respectively. Color-matched lower bumper and rocker sills; color-matched protective bodyside moldings and door handles; aerodynamic headlamps; halogen projector beam; high-pressure headlamp washers; front and rear fog lamps; side-mounted direction indicator lamps; undercoating and anti-corrosion treatment; and bright-finish exhaust tailpipe are standard features on the exterior. Inside, premium natural leather and perforated leather-appointed sport seats with ventilated fronts are optional. Leather-appointed sport seats; head restraints for four seats and provision for a fifth; and leather-trimmed sport steering wheel are standard. DVD-based navigation system with trunk-mounted 6-disc CD changer is optional. AM/FM; Harman/Kardon-tuned audio with 200W; 9 speakers; MP3-compatible auxiliary input jack; XM satellite radio; 6-disc in-dash CD charger; integrated audio controls mounted on steering wheel; and integrated rear-window antenna are standard.
